Description
A broad, sparkling display of clear to pale blue-grey Apophyllite crystals, punctuated by soft peach-beige Stilbite across a substantial mineral matrix.
This large Apophyllite with Stilbite specimen comes from the Nashik area of Maharashtra, India, as supplied. Numerous clear to pale blue-grey crystals cover its broad display face, reflecting light across the stepped, three-dimensional surface.
Peach-beige Stilbite appears among the Apophyllite, providing a warm contrast to the paler crystals. The specimen weighs 1.718 kg and measures 26 × 14 × 6 cm, giving it a substantial presence in a mineral cabinet or on a display shelf.

The recorded Stilbite association introduces a different habit alongside the principal mineral. Stilbite is a zeolite mineral known for grouped and sheaf-like growth. Its texture and usually softer appearance can complement more strongly reflective faces, making the association useful to study as a natural combination of crystal forms.
The accompanying Stilbite adds another crystal texture to the piece. Its grouped growth has a softer visual character beside the more reflective principal mineral, creating a contrast that is worth following across the specimen. The association gives the surface more than one type of detail to explore and allows the minerals to be appreciated together in their natural setting.
Apophyllite is a traditional name used for a group of related hydrated silicate minerals. Collector specimens are often admired for bright glassy faces and strongly defined crystal outlines. The group commonly occurs in cavities and can be associated with zeolite minerals. The name here follows the supplied identification rather than a laboratory determination of the precise member of the group.
Transparent and translucent areas can make an Apophyllite crystal look quite different as light moves across it. Reflections emphasise the outside faces, while softer internal areas show through the body of the crystal. A group is therefore interesting for both its clear geometry and its overall arrangement. Recorded accompanying minerals add another layer of contrast in shape, colour and texture.
The recorded origin is Nashik, Maharashtra, India. Within a collection of Apophyllite specimens, this locality gives the piece a geographical identity alongside its particular crystal habit and natural setting.
The specimen measures 26 × 14 × 6 cm, with a recorded weight of 1.718 kg. Its scale gives the natural architecture room to be appreciated as a whole, while the finer growth provides detail for closer study.
Support the stable matrix or the supplied mount when moving the specimen, avoiding pressure on projecting growth. A secure indoor display allows its natural form and surface detail to be appreciated while protecting exposed crystal edges.
