Connections & Heritage

Since the late 19th century, China has been synonymous with the world’s finest Cinnabar, mined from the Wanshanchang region along the border of Hunan and Guizhou Provinces.

Over the years, I’ve developed strong relationships with suppliers and collectors across the globe. In the UK, I occasionally acquire minerals from Crystal Classics Fine Minerals, operated by Ian and Diana Bruce in my home village of Cokers, Somerset — respected names in the field of global mineral discovery.

My first and dearest international contact, Meng Ting, is an independent crystal hunter from Donghai and Siling, China. With remarkable expertise and integrity, she sources exceptional minerals for Avalon Crystals directly from the Crystal City of Donghai — recognised as the Capital of Crystals. Her sister operates a beautiful boutique shop in the same region.

I also work closely with Mohammed, a long-time partner based in India, whose passion for fine minerals and commitment to ethical sourcing align closely with my own.
