About this Azurite with Malachite specimen

Deep blue Azurite forms a richly textured crystalline covering, interrupted by patches of vivid green Malachite. The principal display face combines broad rounded growth with smaller knobbly aggregates, giving the specimen an uneven, sculptural outline. Fine crystals catch the light across the blue surface, producing a delicate sparkle against the darker recesses.

The Azurite changes in appearance across the specimen, from intense blue highlights to almost navy tones in sheltered pockets. Its finely crystalline surface follows the contours of the underlying rounded forms, while open cavities break up the growth and reveal depth within the piece. Viewed from the side, these hollows and overhanging edges give the mineral formation a particularly open, three-dimensional structure.

Green Malachite provides a contrasting texture as well as colour. Small green patches punctuate the blue display face, while a more extensive coating is visible on the reverse. Turning the specimen reveals how the two minerals are distributed through the piece, with the brighter green growth outlining edges, lining irregular surfaces and framing areas of Azurite.

This Azurite with Malachite offers several distinct viewing angles: a densely sparkling blue face, an open side with recessed pockets, and a reverse dominated by the green mineral association. The combination of rounded growth, fine crystal detail and contrasting copper-mineral colours makes it a piece to examine closely as well as display.
