Description

A lustrous Black Tourmaline specimen from Karibib in the Erongo region of Namibia. Strong lengthwise striations run along the upright crystal, producing narrow silver-grey reflections against its deep black surfaces. The broad prismatic form gives this compact specimen a clear, architectural outline.

The photographs reveal contrasting faces around the crystal: some are smoother and more reflective, while others show stepped grooves, shallow recesses and uneven surface texture. These changes give the specimen a different appearance as it is turned. Its upper end has an irregular profile, with visible contact areas and small surface marks that can be examined in the close-up views.

The bevelled glass display base supports the crystal vertically, allowing its striated sides and dark lustre to be appreciated from several angles. The exact specimen shown in all five photographs is offered, with the base included. A distinctive Namibian mineral specimen for a small display or a collection focused on Tourmaline and prismatic crystal forms.
