Description
Black Tourmaline on white Feldspar from Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. A contrasting cabinet mineral specimen presented on a curved wooden display stand. Lustrous black prisms stand out against the pale feldspar, giving this upright piece an intricate and strongly textured display face.
The feldspar forms a substantial framework of white to cream blocky crystals, with stepped surfaces and smaller crystal growth gathered around the larger forms. Black Tourmaline crystals occur across and amongst this pale host, ranging from slender needle-like prisms to thicker exposed sections with reflective faces.
Open recesses, intersecting crystals and the changing relief of the feldspar create depth across the specimen. The warm brown wooden stand complements the pale matrix and dark crystals, supporting an attractive upright presentation.
Locality supplied as Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The exact feldspar species has not been confirmed, so the host is described as Feldspar rather than assigned to Albite or Microcline. Please examine the photographs for uneven crystal ends, contact surfaces and overall condition. The pictured curved wooden stand and an Avalon Crystals & Minerals specimen certification card are included.
