Description
Blue-green and purple zoned Fluorite from Zhejiang Province, China, with a broad flattened profile and a finely frosted face. Illuminated wooden display base included. The wide main face and sloping sides give this piece a low, angular outline.
A fine surface texture softens reflections across the broad face, contrasting with clearer areas around the sides. Blue-purple tones appear around the outer sections in the illuminated photographs, while greener areas occupy the centre. Internal fractures and overlapping planes add detail beneath the surface.
Fine parallel steps run along parts of the lower edge. A projecting crystal section at one end and shallow notches around the perimeter break up the broad outline. The overall form differs from the more open, sharply projecting clusters in this group of specimens.
The included illuminated wooden base brings out the colour zoning and translucency. An unlit photograph shows the darker, more subdued appearance under ordinary lighting. The illumination shown is transmitted visible light, not a claim of fluorescence.
Locality supplied as Zhejiang Province, China. Visible fractures, uneven edges and chipped or contact areas are shown in the photographs. The exact specimen, pictured illuminated wooden display base and an Avalon Crystals & Minerals specimen certification card are included.
