Colour-Zoned Fluorite on Calcite · 244 g

A closely intergrown group of colour-zoned Fluorite crystals sits on contrasting white to cream Calcite from Qinglong County, Guizhou Province, China. The specimen has a broad, gently rising display face, with cubes of different sizes overlapping across the matrix. Pale lavender and lilac faces are accompanied by subtly greenish interiors and violet borders, producing a soft rather than uniformly saturated colour.

The larger Fluorite crystals reveal their cubic structure through square faces, stepped outlines and intersecting edges. Translucent areas catch glassy reflections, while other faces have a finely frosted appearance. The visible colour bands follow the crystal geometry, adding detail that becomes clearer in the closer photographs.

Calcite emerges around the Fluorite as pale rounded growth and a fine crystalline druse. Small sparkling surfaces contrast with the broader Fluorite faces, and exposed matrix along the lower edge gives the cluster a distinct layered profile. The uneven arrangement of the cubes creates shallow pockets and changes in height across the specimen.
