Description

Colour-zoned Fluorite cubes rise above a white to cream Calcite matrix in this distinctive specimen from Qinglong County, Guizhou Province, China. The display face forms an elongated arrangement, with prominent cubes towards the ends and smaller intergrown crystals bordering the finely crystalline centre. Soft lilac-violet margins frame pale, subtly greenish interiors, giving the larger crystals an understated internal colour contrast.

The broad Fluorite faces show a mixture of translucent areas, vitreous reflections and more frosted surface textures. In the close views, the colour zoning follows the cubic geometry, creating delicate borders within and around the crystal faces. Smaller cubes overlap and step across the matrix, allowing the eye to follow the crystal growth from one end of the specimen to the other.

The Calcite provides more than a supporting base: rounded botryoidal formations and a fine sparkling druse fill the spaces between the Fluorite crystals. This contrast between angular cubes and softer, finely textured Calcite gives the specimen a layered profile and makes the association particularly appealing for display.

For a collector of Chinese Fluorite, colour-zoned crystals or Fluorite with Calcite, this Qinglong specimen offers several features to examine: the arrangement of the cubes, the subtle green and violet colour changes, and the contrasting matrix textures. The photographs show the exact mineral specimen from multiple angles. A display stand and Avalon Crystals & Minerals specimen certification card are included.

This is a natural mineral specimen. Minor contacts and edge wear may be present, consistent with extraction and handling; please examine the close-up photographs as part of the condition description.
