Polished Rutilated Quartz on Display Base — Minas Gerais, Brazil — 35 mm

A polished Quartz display piece with fine golden to copper-coloured Rutile needles in a translucent host. Groups of needles form small crossing arrangements and fans across its broad faces.

The angular outline and polished surfaces make the inclusions and internal fractures easier to inspect. This individual piece is shown mounted on a clear display base; the photographs provide two views of the Quartz.
