Green & Purple Banded Fluorite — Zhejiang, China

Green and purple banded Fluorite from Zhejiang Province, China. A dark violet band frames the translucent green interior, with a paler outer edge and angular stepped surfaces. This compact collector specimen has a distinctive layered appearance.

From the front, the purple band follows an angular outline beneath the pale green rim. Lighting from beneath reveals a brighter green centre and emphasises the contrast between the colour zones. In ordinary lighting, the deeper purple areas appear considerably darker.

Other viewing angles reveal overlapping stepped surfaces, small recesses and textured faces. The irregular outline, surface fractures and uneven edges give each side a different appearance. Please examine all five photographs, including the unlit view, for the exact condition.
