Malachite

Description

An upright Malachite formation brings together radiating green sprays, textured ridges and open pockets. Its angular, rising outline contrasts with the finer fibrous growth across the surface, giving the specimen a clear vertical presence and a more intricate character at close range.

The green colour follows the relief of the mineral. Raised ridges catch brighter reflections, while the hollows remain deeper and darker, drawing attention into the spaces between the growths. The radiating textures give the eye a direction to follow across each part of the formation.

The side views bring out the thickness of the ridges and the uneven arrangement of the pockets. Rather than presenting one continuous face, this Malachite has a changing landscape of open and closely grouped growth, with the overall silhouette and fine surface texture contributing equally to the display.
