Large Smoky Quartz with Citrine Zoning
Minas Gerais, Brazil
Sold — £1,450
Description
A substantial Brazilian quartz cluster combining rich smoky tones with honey-gold citrine zoning. Broad prismatic crystals rise in an interlocking arrangement from a pale quartz base, with reflective terminal faces and a strongly sculptural outline. The contrast between darker tips and warmer golden interiors changes with the direction of the light.
The principal points are accompanied by smaller crystals around the base and between the larger prisms. Internal veils, layered colour zones and intricate growth textures give the cluster depth, while patches of pale surface growth provide further contrast against the glassy faces. The photographs show the actual specimen from several angles, including a close view of the larger terminations.
From Minas Gerais, Brazil, this museum-scale display specimen has a commanding presence suited to a substantial mineral collection or interior display. It stands on its natural quartz base. This specimen has been sold and remains here as part of my archive of previously supplied minerals.
